About me
Hi, I’m Sarah. I'm a Chartered and HCPC registered Physiotherapist based in Formby, Liverpool. It was during my Stroke Rehab placement as a Student Physiotherapist that I first discovered my love for Neuro Physiotherapy- and I’ve been hooked ever since!
Since qualifying from the University of Salford in 2007, I have been fortunate enough to work in a range of different settings in the NHS including acute Neurology and Neurosurgery wards as well as High Dependency and Intensive Care Units at Salford Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust.
Over the past 10 years, I worked as a Senior Physiotherapist within the Neuro Rehabilitation Unit, Community Stroke and Neuro Teams in Wigan, before moving on to the role of Physiotherapy Clinical Lead in the Southport & Formby Community Neuro Team, part of Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. This wealth of experience across the pathway from acute to community rehabilitation has enabled me to develop enhanced and holistic skills in Neuro Rehab, and more recently in Vestibular Rehab.
Alongside these work-based opportunities, I have always enjoyed developing my knowledge and skill set through Continuous Professional Development; regularly completing training courses, clinical supervision as well as delivering training to other professionals.
After setting up as Pinewood Neuro Physio in early 2023 and working part-time alongside my NHS role, I took the plunge in December 2023 to concentrate solely on my private practice. I am really enjoying the freedom that this has brought not only to my personal life, but also in being able to provide high quality Neuro Physiotherapy input for people in a timely manner, at a frequency and duration that clients need and/or want to best support them to achieve their individual goals.
