Hi, I’m Sarah. I'm a Chartered and HCPC registered Physiotherapist based in Formby, Liverpool and founder of Pinewood Neuro Physio.
It was during my Stroke Rehabilitation placement as a student that I first discovered my love for Neuro Physiotherapy- and I’ve been hooked ever since!
Since qualifying from the University of Salford in 2007, I have been fortunate enough to work in a range of different settings in the NHS including acute Neurology and Neurosurgery wards as well as High Dependency and Intensive Care Units at Salford Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust.
I went on to work as a Senior Physiotherapist within the Neuro Rehabilitation Unit and Community Neuro Team in Wigan, before moving on to the role of Physiotherapy Clinical Lead in the Southport & Formby Community Neuro Team. This wealth of experience across the pathway has enabled me to develop enhanced and holistic skills in Neuro and Vestibular physiotherapy.
Alongside these work-based opportunities, I have always enjoyed developing my knowledge and skills through Continuous Professional Development; regularly completing training courses and clinical supervision as well as delivering training to other professionals.
After setting up as Pinewood Neuro Physio in early 2023 and working part-time alongside my NHS role, I took the plunge in December 2023 to concentrate solely on my private practice. I am really enjoying the freedom that this has brought not only to my personal life, but also in being able to provide high quality Neuro Physiotherapy treatment for people in a timely manner, at a frequency and duration that clients need and/or want to best support them to achieve their goals.

Associate Physiotherapist
Elaine is a HCPC registered and Chartered Physiotherapist. She qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2009 and began her career at Aintree University Hospital before heading to London.
Here she spent 10 years building a wealth of experience across orthopaedics, neurology, elderly care, rapid response and dementia care.
She worked at both the Royal Free Hospital and Chelsea Hospital, developing specialist skills and a real passion for supporting people with complex needs.
Since moving back to the North West, she’s been working within local NHS Community Teams and has been a valued member of the Pinewood Neuro Physio team since 2025.
As well as her extensive specialist skills, Elaine has a calm and compassionate approach which helps to bring the best out of her clients.
